​​​​​Outstanding Club Social Media Campaign
This award is based on a single Social Media campaign or promotion to publicize club activities, meetings and club events, and to share information about the club.  Social Media used can include Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube, Google+, Pinterest, etc.  Additional sources may also be used as long as it complies with the award objective and criteria. Award nominations should include a narrative which addresses the criteria and screenshots to illustrate campaign and results achieved.


Carlie Sessom Civitan of the Decade Award

Given to a NCDE Civitan who has provided a minimum of 10 years of outstanding service at the club, District and /or International levels.   If the nominee’s home club is not the submitter, an endorsement from the home club or someone in the home club must be included. (District activities: 65%, other activities 20%, presentation 15%)


Dr. Luther Medlin Distinguished Citizen of the Year Award

​Given to an outstanding citizen residing in the NCDE area who may, or may not, be a Civitan.  Civitans holding elective or appointive office at the District level are not eligible during their term of office. The award recognizes special services made by the nominee for the good of humanity. (Content: 85%, presentation 15%)


Distinguished Lifetime Achievement Award
In recognition for a lifetime of outstanding service as both citizen and as Civitan, North Carolina District East has chosen to honor a select number of Civitans by awarding them the Distinguished Lifetime Achievement A ward. Requirements to receive this prestigious award are the highest of all the individual awards. Therefore, the award should not be considered an annual event. It should be bestowed only when a Civitan's contributions over the past twenty or more years to North Carolina District East, to Civitan' s growth and well being at the club, District and/or International levels, and to his/her community have truly been outstanding and extraordinary. 

Perfect Attendance Award

Given for 25 or more years of perfect club meeting attendance; missed meetings may be made up at a board meeting, committee, area, district, or international meeting, at another club’s meeting or by working a Civitan project.​


District Honor Key Award

Given for outstanding service to NCDE over several years.  The nominee must have been a Civitan for 5 years and must have provided service must be at the District level, as well as at the club level. (District activities 65%, other activities 20%, presentation  15%)


Individual Membership Award

Given to the Civitan who has sponsored the most new members between July 20, 2015 and July 15, 2016.


Individual Humanity Award

Given in recognition of an individual NCDE Civitan in giving aid and comfort to other individuals in need.


Club Humanity Award --  Hands On

Presented to the Club rendering the most outstanding hands-on service to its community through a series of individual hands-on projects.  (Benefits to individuals served 50%, members’ participation 25%, organization/implementation 10%, publicity received 10%, presentation 5%).


Club Humanity Award -- Monetary Contribution

Presented to the Club rendering the most outstanding service to its community through a series of monetary contributions on the Local, District, and International level.  (Benefits to individuals served 50%, members’ participation 25%, organization/implementation 10%, publicity received 10%, presentation 5%)


District Civitan of the Year Award

Given for outstanding service to NCDE during the current Civitan year. Outstanding service to the club or community may be considered when coupled with outstanding service to the community.  (District activities 65%, other activities 20%, presentation 15%)


District Club of the Year Award

Given in 3 membership categories: (30 and under, 31-49, 50 and over). To be eligible, a club must be plus in membership and must provide additional information on membership, community service, knowledge (speakers, programs, club education, District/ International educational programs, fellowship, Foundation activities, and club management. (District activities 65%, other activities 20%, presentation 15 %)


Outstanding Civitan Awareness Project Award

Based on a single project which is judged the most outstanding in generating favorable publicity for the club or the Civitan name.  (Benefits to individuals served 50%, members’ participation 25%, organization/implementation 10%, publicity received 10%, presentation 5%)


Outstanding Total Civitan Awareness Award

Based on a series of projects  judged collectively the most outstanding in generating favorable publicity for the club or the Civitan name.  (Benefits to individuals served 50%, members’ participation 25%, organization/implementation 10%, publicity received 10%, presentation 5%)


Outstanding Club Bulletin Award

Based on the submission of a full set of issues in chronological order covering the Civitan administrative year to date. (Newsworthy content 60%, format 5%, attractiveness 5%, readability 10%, contribution to program 10%, timeliness 10%)


Outstanding Club Website Award

Printed screen shots of the website for the award year are provided. (Welcome, visitor information 20%, club news, activities 15%, contact information 10%, customized website address 10%, timeliness 10%, pictures 10%, ease of use/navigation 10%, design 10%, links 5%).


Outstanding Community Service Project Award

Given for outstanding service to the community through a single project.  (Benefits to individuals served 50%, members’ participation 25%, organization/implementation 10%, publicity received 10%, presentation 5%)


Outstanding Total Community Service Award

Given for outstanding service to the community through a series of projects.  (Benefits to individuals served 50%, members’ participation 25%, organization/implementation 10%, publicity received 10%, presentation 5%)


Outstanding Fundraising Project Award

Given to the club which has the most outstanding fundraising project, not necessarily the most money raised. Productivity based on club participation, as well as uniqueness of the project is also considered. (Benefits to individuals served 50%, members’ participation 25%, organization/implementation 10%, publicity received 10%, presentation 5%)


Outstanding Service to Individuals with Disabilities Award

Based on a single project and given for outstanding service in any area of work with individuals with disabilities.   (Benefits to individuals served 50%, members’ participation 25%, organization/implementation 10%, publicity received 10%, presentation 5%)


Outstanding Total Service to Individuals with Disabilities Award

Based on a series of projects and given for outstanding service in any area of work with individuals with disabilities.  (Benefits to individuals served 50%, members’ participation 25%, organization/implementation 10%, publicity received 10%, presentation 5%)


Outstanding Total Youth Award

Based on a series projects and is presented to the club which has given the most outstanding service in any area of youth work.(Benefits to individuals served 50%, members’ participation 25%, organization/implementation 10%, publicity received 10%, presentation 5%)


Outstanding Youth Project Award

Based on a single project and is presented to the club which has given the most outstanding service in any area of youth work. (Benefits to individuals served 50%, members’ participation 25%, organization/implementation 10%, publicity received 10%, presentation 5%)
